Dr. Richard BakkenAssociate Director, Instructional Support Services – Office of Information Technology
Dr. Richard Bakken currently serves as Associate Director of Instructional Support Services (ISS) in OIT at Princeton University. As one of the senior managers in OIT Support Services, Rich and his group is responsible for learning space technology, broadcast/conferencing, and academic special event support across campus. On campus, he is a member of the Faculty Committee on Classrooms and Schedules (FCCS), the Academic and Administrative Managers Group (AAMG), and collaborates with the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning on technology applications. He also represented Princeton as a participant in the 2016 MOR Leaders program. Dr. Bakken completed a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at the University of San Diego. His dissertation focused in higher education administration and student affairs at universities in Doha, Qatar. Research interests include informing administrators how students describe their learning experiences in Western university environments, strategies to meet their needs, and ways that technology can impact the process.
